Careers & Destinations

The majority of Meopham Sixth Form students go on to higher education or intermediate and higher Apprenticeships.  All students are supported throughout the process of choosing and applying to university courses and apprenticeships by tutors, sixth form staff and the school’s Careers advisor.

From the start of Year 12, students participate in a number of trips aimed at providing them with the knowledge needed to make an informed decision about future career choices.  Furthermore, throughout the year pupils will take part in a number of presentations and workshops.

Events include;

  • Barclays Life Skills Workshops

  • University campus visits

  • The National Apprenticeship Show

  • Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge (ASK) Programme workshops

  • Industry guest speakers and external visits to businesses

Just alone so far this academic year students have taken part in;

  • Armed forces career workshops

  • Engaged with local employers

  • Virtual UK University and Apprenticeship Search fair (with over 200 exhibitors)

  • University life assembly by a member of the Meopham Sixth Form Alumni

  • Covering letters and CV lessons

  • Apprenticeship assembly

On Monday 16th November students will take in a careers day, with the opportunity to engage with over 15 different local and national employers. We are extremely excited to be hosting such an event, it will provide students with invaluable information for their future career choices.
