GCSE Results Day

Students and staff at Meopham School are celebrating another set of fantastic GCSE
results.
77% of students achieved the standard pass of Grade 4 or above in both English and
Mathematics. In addition, 83% secured a Grade 4 or above in English while 84%
secured a Grade 4 or above in Maths. 53% of students achieved a strong pass of
Grade 5 in both English and Maths. In a year when GCSE examinations have never
been more challenging, due to the disrupted learning caused by the pandemic, the
school is thrilled with the outstanding success of so many of their students.
Head of School, Kate Girling, said, “We are delighted with the outcomes achieved by
our students this year. We are incredibly proud of our students who have continued
to perform so strongly in English, Maths and Science. They have shown such
resilience in their studies despite the disruptions to school during the pandemic.”
Exceptional student successes include Vickram Santhakumar who achieved four
Grade 9 results in English Literature, Maths and Combined Science, as well as Grades
7 and 8 in his other subjects. Vickram said, “I'm so pleased with my results, and
really looking forward to studying Sciences at A’ Level”
Amanda Adegoke, who achieved 9 Strong Passes including Grade 9 in Combined
Science and Maths, said, “The hard work paid off. Thanks to my teachers at
Meopham.”
Other outstanding outcomes include Harrison Wood-Heath (who achieved a Grade 8
in English Literature as well as four Grade 7 results) and Rita Singh (who achieved a
Grade 9 in Spanish and Portuguese, along with Grade 8 in English and Maths)
Deputy Headteacher, Zara Romney, said, “These results show that hard work pays
off. I am so pleased that our students have achieved the results they so richly
deserve. Both students and staff have worked tirelessly this year. I am deeply proud
of each and every one of them.”
Kate Girling added, “We are delighted that our academic and strong character ethos
continues to produce such excellent outcomes for our students.”
